Robert Mueller, the former FBI director, died at the age of 81.

Robert Mueller was an American lawyer who served as the sixth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2001 to 2013. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. Enlisting in 1968, he led a rifle platoon as a first lieutenant in the Third Marine Division, earning a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and other awards for valor.
