Unpacking the A’ja Wilson-Fever Fan Interaction, UNC Football vs. Notre Dame – Stroman On Sports (October 2, 2026)

97.9 The Hill’s Deborah Stroman and Brighton McConnell speak on the phone Friday, October 2. In the wake of some high-drama and competitive WNBA playoff games, the pair check in on the results and the broader debate — specifically around Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and an interaction with an Indiana Fever fan. Stroman also shares her thoughts on UNC football’s tough test as No. 3 Notre Dame visits Chapel Hill this weekend, saying what Carolina can take from game where it appears to be overmatched.

Dr. Deborah Stroman — who is a consulting professor for UNC and Virginia, sports businesswoman, former basketball player, and columnist — chats with 97.9 The Hill’s Brighton McConnell each week about headlines from the world of sports. Covering both local and national stories, Stroman specializes in connecting the on-field product to the impact of sports on business, culture and society.
