In this week’s episode, we discuss the importance of following a program or plan to get to a desired outcome. I am obviously a big advocate for structured and progressive training and following a program is an example of that!


Not only does it provide your body an opportunity to adapt and adjust over time, but it also helps to get you to your goal in the most effective and efficient way possible (one of the many benefits of working with a certified professional). The human body is incredibly complex and smart, so it’s important that we work with it as we look to excel in a new direction. 


In this episode we dive into the benefits of following a program, what to look for, how things adjust in real time, and I also share a little bit of my own current journey working towards a new goal (training for a half marathon). 


I share insights for both athletes in sport and athletes in life to gain a better understanding of why having a plan is so important, but also from the lens of being a strength & conditioning coach, and how I approach writing a program for an individual I’m working with.
