Justin takes one verse — Ephesians 4:11 — and traces the five grace-filled roles God gave his church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. He explains why apostles and prophets were time-sensitive foundational roles tied to the direct revelation and establishment of the church (and why you should think carefully before using those titles today), what the Greek word for "prophecy" actually means beyond predicting the future, and why the role of pastor has been quietly destroyed by a culture that turned a shepherd into a CEO and a calling into a career. The central image of the whole sermon: grace flowing from the twelve apostles into the world isn't like a bucket of water dumped on sand — spreading out until it disappears. It's a deluge. It only grows. And the reason the list in verse 11 ends with teachers — without saying "some as teachers" — is because teachers aren't for some. They're for everyone.
