It Is Finished – Raised For Holy Living (Part 1) | Easter Series | John 17: 13-19
Bryanston Bible Church
In John 17:13–19, we are invited to overhear Jesus’ final prayer before the cross—words that reveal what mattered most to Him as He prepared to give His life.
While we often think of Easter as the forgiveness of sins, Jesus shows us that it is also about something more: the making of a holy people. He prays not that His followers would be removed from the world, but that they would be kept, sanctified, and sent within it.
This passage reminds us that the Christian life is lived in tension—we are in the world, but no longer of it. And yet, God does not leave us to ourselves. The Father sanctifies His people through His Word, shaping us for lives of holiness and purpose.
As we approach Easter, we are called to see that we are not only saved from sin, but set apart for holy living.
