Warriors win at Air Force, improves to 4-2 on the season

Hawaii Football Final

About

The latest episode of Hawaii Football Final, presented by Hawaii Sports 2Night, broke down the University of Hawaii football team’s biggest win of the season — a 44-35 road victory at Air Force.

Hosted by KHON2 Sports Director Rob DeMello and analyst Rich Miano, a former UH player and coach and 11-year NFL veteran, the weekly show recapped how the Rainbow Warriors reached the midpoint of the season at 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Mountain West.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Micah Alejado rebounded from a four-turnover outing against Fresno State to deliver a career-best performance in Colorado Springs. Alejado completed 35 of 47 passes for 457 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with 463 yards of total offense — the highest single-game mark in the nation this year.

Hawaii’s offense scored on eight of 10 drives, including a 24-play, 12-minute march that highlighted a ball-control effort. While the Falcons struck for explosive gains, UH’s defense came up with timely stops, capped by Matagi Thompson’s first collegiate interception.

The win snapped a 14-game skid in nationally televised road contests and allowed the Rainbow Warriors to retain the Kuter Trophy.

Hawaii Football Final premieres every Sunday at 7 p.m. on the KHON+ app, available on Apple TV, Roku and Firestick. A rebroadcast airs Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. on KHON2.
