This is a true story of an investment fail and also of the kindness of my brother in law. Even though I caused him untold stress and significant financial loss - he never dragged me through the ringer or has ever tried to bring it all up with me - even though this was entirely my fault as I was nominated as the capital allocator.
This is a lesson in not rushing into investments, taking time to look at the risks and how property is not 'as safe as houses'.
