The Reserve Bank has raised the Official Cash Rate to a level not seen since 2008. They now sees the OCR peaking at 5.5% and holding there for a year and are forecasting a recession from mid-2023  


Christopher Luxon is walking back his tax cuts for the top tier message that National has been promising since he became leader. He is blaming Labour for the state of the economy for not letting him give the relief, his opposition is saying it's a u-turn and Luxon is cancelling the proposal as it wasn't popular amongst the voters  


National still pushing 'truancy' barrow blaming parents and Principals for what he describes as a majority of school students not getting to school "regularly" which means they miss more than 4 days in a 10 week term.
