भगवतः प्रसन्नतायै

कश्चन धनिकः भगवते अर्पयितुं देवालयस्य पुरतः स्थितात् आपणात् कमलपुष्पम् एकं क्रेतुम् ऐच्छत् । विंशतिरूप्यकाणि अधिकं मूल्यम् अस्ति इत्यतः दशरूप्यकाणि स्वीक्रियन्ताम् इति आपणिकम् अवदत् धनिकः । तावता तत्र आगतः राजकुमारः प्रेयसीनिमित्तं तत् एव कमलपुष्पं क्रेतुम् ऐच्छत् । धनिकराजकुमारयोः मध्ये वादविवादः जायते ।
(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)
A wealthy man wished to offer a lotus flower to God. He went to a shop near the temple to buy one. The shopkeeper said the price was twenty rupees, but the rich man insisted it should be accepted for ten. Just then, a prince arrived, wanting to buy the same lotus for his beloved. A dispute arose between the rich man and the prince over the flower.
