This partnership between Reliance Industries' financial arm Jio Financial Services and the world's largest asset management company BlackRock is likely to bring about a big change in the country's investment management industry. At the end of May 2025, SEBI gave final permission to 'Jio BlackRock' to start mutual fund operations. This partnership, announced in July 2023, has now become a reality. The 50:50 joint venture will initially invest $300 million. Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Group's Jio is known for its technology and broad reach, while New York-based BlackRock is a global asset manager.
The film 'Nirjali' won the Best Film award at the Pimpri Chinchwad International Film Festival, while the Tamil-language short film 'Thunai' won the Best Short Film award. The awards ceremony of the festival was held in a festive atmosphere on June 1, 2025. More than 90 films, short films, documentaries, animations and 60-second films from 40 countries were screened at the festival. Priyanka Bheriya won the Best Actress award and Tushar Shingade won the Best Actor award. The festival was jointly organized by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Film Society. The awards ceremony was held at the Madgulkar Theatre in Akurdi. At this ceremony, artists from home and abroad were honored with various awards. On this occasion, many dignitaries including State Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission member Adv. Goraksh Lokhande, Municipal Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Patil, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, writer and director Sujay Dahake, actress Rajshree Deshpande were present.
The tercentenary celebrations organized in Pimpri-Chinchwad city to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar concluded on the evening of May 31. A grand 'Shiv Mahaarti' was organized by women at the Mahadev Temple in Pimple Saudagar on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party. This eight-day ceremony concluded with this Mahaarti. Many office bearers and activists were present on this occasion. The information booklet of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar was released at the program. Finally, BJP city president Shatrughan Bapu Kate remembered the work of Ahilyadevi Holkar and thanked the attendees.
A two-day workshop for journalists from Konkan region was recently held in Ratnagiri. State School Education and Sports Minister Dr. Uday Samant addressed the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. On this occasion, he expressed his strong desire to make Konkan more prosperous and progressive than California.

The Thane POCSO court on Friday sentenced a female broker to 14 years of hard labour and a fine of Rs 10,000 for procuring prostitution from 16 and 17-year-old schoolgirls. In 2021, the prostitution racket was exposed due to the vigilance of social activist Dr. Binu Varghese, and the 16 and 17-year-old schoolgirls were rescued in this case. Considering the witnesses and strong evidence presented by the police, the Special POCSO Judge of the Thane District Sessions Court D. S. Deshmukh has convicted the accused female broker under the PITA Act and sentenced her to 14 years of hard labour.
