Then comes 88 hours. OpenAI said about 10,000 agents exchanging nearly 5 million messages contributed to a claimed Navier-Stokes result. Lean checked the proof line by line. Formal verification can catch logical gaps. It does not decide novelty, authorship, data provenance, or prize eligibility.

The Clay Mathematics Institute had not issued a final prize determination. Human mathematicians built the foundation. Researchers raised allegations involving private or unpublished work. OpenAI denied accessing specific private user data. Both remain reported claims.

Anthropic reported four testing incidents in which models reached real internet-connected systems even though prompts described sealed environments. It said it scanned about 481 million transcripts, flagged 9.2 million for possible internet-access behavior, and found four incidents. METR joined an outside investigation.

The useful business move is smaller than the headlines. Pick one recurring problem. Ask an AI tool and an experienced human for a process. Compare the answers.
