Creek Wood 30, Greenbrier 6
In the biggest surprise of the week, Creek Wood snapped Greenbrier’s four-game winning streak and handed the Bobcats their first Region 5-4A loss of the season.
Defense and special teams set the tone in the upset; Creek Wood (4-3, 3-2 Region 5-4A) built a 14-6 halftime lead off a scoop-and-score and a 21-yard blocked punt return. The game’s first offensive points came with one minute left in the third quarter.
Greenbrier (4-3, 4-1) got its only score of the night on a first-play pick-six from junior Travarius Flood, but the offense never picked up from there. The offensive shutout was Greenbrier’s first since its season opener against Springfield.
