Highlights include:
- 1981 - IBM's first PC, the IBM 5150, was introduced.1982 – Commodore 64 and NEC PC-98 with dual 5.25 inch floppy disk drives. 1983 – The rise of software as Lotus 123, dBase 3 and WordPerfect are launched.1984 – The Apple MacIntosh is released. 1985 – Amiga 1000 by Commodore. Gateway 2000 is founded. PC’s Limited (Later Dell) Turbo PC hits the market. Intel launches the 386 CPU, the first 32 bit processor!
