About this episode

Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness.

On today’s episode, we discuss the idea of peacekeeping vs peacemaking and how peacekeeping is most often at the expense of our own selves... especially as little, perceptive children who were taught to "keep the peace" in order to make ourselves safe. The truth however is that sometimes things/relationships need to be shattered in order to fully heal and ignoring this, is most often at the expense of our own wellbeing. This is how we get sick.... or at least that has certainly been true in our own experiences with chronic illness and also seems to be true in our society today.

We then chat about the ideas of forgiveness and reconciliation and how they are not one and the same. Forgiveness happens in our own hearts and reconciliation happens in relationship… and in order to be invited into reconciliation, someone must be willing to go through the steps of healing along side us. We chat about how this process can feel scary and bring up a lot of shame, but why it’s so worth doing anyways. Like always, this leads us back to the topic of love. We explore the idea that love isn’t just a gentle soothing but can also be the powerful voice of strength. We then share how we have personally learned to speak hard truths, in love.

Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are unconditionally loved and we are so very glad that you're here.
