GENERAL MUSIC, JUST FOR FUN. COPYRIGHT ACT TT: An Act to make provision in respect of copyright and neighbouring rights, in substitution for the Copyright Act, 1985, and for related purposes. [1ST OCTOBER 1997] WhEREAS it is enacted by section 13(1) of the Constitution that an Act of Parliament to which that section applies may expressly declare that it shall have effect even though inconsistent with sections 4 and 5 of the Constitution, and if any Act does so declare it shall have effect accordingly: And whereas it is provided in subsection (2) of the said section 13, that an Act of Parliament to which that section applies is one the Bill for which has been passed by both houses of Parliament and at the final vote thereon in each house has been supported by the votes of not less than three-fifths of all the members of that house: And whereas it is necessary and expedient that this Act have effect even though inconsistent with sections 4 and 5 of the Constitution: 1. This Act may be cited as the Copyright Act. 2. This Act shall have effect even though inconsistent with sections 4 and 5 of the Constitution. 3. For the purposes of this Act, the following terms have the following meaning: “audio-visual work” is a work that consists of a series of related images which impart the impression of motion, with or without accompanying sounds, susceptible of being made COPYRIGHT ACT GENERAL: Copyright Disclaimer under Section 107 of the copyright act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favour of fair use.
