Over 200 Rock, Dance, Country, R & B, Jazz, Chants, Pop songs, recorded by Singer/Songwriter Meeta Gajjar Parker over a lifetime.  She's the first female rock singer of east Indian descent.

MEETA GAJJAR PARKER
Beginning her career at age 16 when she recorded the rock single, “Wild About You,” for Alpha International Records Meeta became the “First Female Rock Singer From India.” A year later she was back in the studio with producer Lance Quinn recording “Come Back For More,” at the Power Station in New York. So captured by her voice and style was Virgin Records artist Dexter Wansel, that he featured her as lead vocalist twice on his “Captured” album on Virgin International Records released in Europe in the 80’s. The two cuts, “Turn Me On” and “Do What You Wanna,” earned her international recognition. This CD was re-released in 2012 worldwide.
Meeta appeared as a guest vocalist performing “Forbidden Fruit” on Dancin’ On Air (Channel 17-Philadelphia). This song also aired on Dick Clark’s Rate-A-Record section of American Bandstand.
Meeta had the honor of singing the “Star Spangled Banner,” for the Philadelphia 76er’s several times in the Philadelphia Spectrum. She has recorded many solo albums, a Jazz/Easy Listening, self-titled CD “What Would I Do,” “Shanti Dhun,” Indian Chants recorded in India, “Life” by Exotica a Rock CD, which she wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies for in its entirety. She also released an Americana EP called “The Watch,” by Riverhorse and Meeta, as well as sang lead vocals on “Cataland’s” 2015 Symphonic, Progressive Rock CD. She recorded 3 dance CD’s with the band Final Approach including the 2016 release entitled “One Track Minds,” and Cinematic, Inspirational EP “Timeless” which was written & recorded by her and Chris Hope. Meeta’s 10th CD is a cover song album with a band in Italy doing re-makes of 70’s and 80’s songs. Her 11th CD is with Final Approach expected out in Nov. of 2020 and a Bluesy Rock CD with her band Mystic Highway in due out sometime in 2021.

She also continues to write and record music with songwriters across the country with the help of her husband Frank Parker (Soundman/Engineer)
As a child of yoga, her father having brought yoga to Delaware in the 60’s, she also teaches yoga for the city of Newark and has been doing so for many years.
Meeta is also the author of a children’s book called “Cookie The Clown” which was published by America Star Books and can be purchased online or directly from her.
