About the station
It is a Community People's Radio! Radio B’alam - is a community radio station and we don’t want to use it for any advertising of large companies since they do not like us. We came up along with a way and done hard work to carry the sound without so much publicity even as taking advantage of the few options that there are for the population without VOICE. However, social communicators have not been able to create initiatives to publicize this problem. For example, there are songs produced by great artists and are allowed in popular radio stations and they earn a lot of money while our artists of the villages (sones, piezas, zapateadas, zarabandas, etc.) are not being recognized for their hard work. Our radio station is always open to support these and we provide them with tools and find alternative directions to shout-cast their songs. We help many Artist to record their instrumentals and convert it to Mp3 because is the only format that can be used for any audio player over the internet. I cannot explain for each player since there are hundreds of media players available over the internet and Urbano Maya Mam does not automatically appear on them. Thank you for giving me your attentions! Best Greetings from your friend and partner Dj Rx. Why doesn't Radio B’alam work 24 hours a day, if it was established 10 years old? DJ, Rx and the Indigenous Communities can not only work 24 hours a day, we can translate into other languages but we can’t because the system of our education is oriented so that we can be used as a worker for large companies, corrupt authorities and trade unions. That is why there is no progress.
